And yet Klaus Johann Reimitz once again put everything on one card: as cellar master of the Tuscan Fattoria di Montevertine, he presented their world-famous Sangiovese “Le Pergole Torte” twenty-five times, then left the estate in 2006 and, after a few years of reflection, made a decision .
He rented a hectare of the finest vineyard land at a friend's well-reputed Poggio al Sole winery near Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, rented space with his own large barrels in the cellar and began making wine on his own account under the “Reimitz” label - three thousand liters per vintage, no more. A rarity.

This wine is the sum of a passionate winemaker's life.

And what a wine: its first vintage, the “Reimitz 2011”, caused a stir – “Cult!” raved critics. And in fact, one had never yet experienced a Sangiovese that pays homage to this wine diva, her beauty as well as her moods, with such elegance, density and at the same time clarity: the sum of a passionate winemaker's life. The following vintages confirmed this reputation; In 2012 and 2013, the palate and mind are once again filled with the almost indescribable good taste in which cherry, violet, a hint of sandalwood and Chianti earth are mysteriously married. The 2014, also a big one, will soon be bottled.
Klaus Reimitz only sells his wine in so-called lots, containers of 24 single bottles, six magnum bottles and one double magnum. Some (internet) wine shops, Finkenweine.de for example, also offer en detail, the Eintel for 95, the Magnum for 199 euros. But beware! This wine has a worrying secret: the emptier the bottle, the better it tastes. Once you get to the foot of the Bouteille, you will undoubtedly open a new one. Magic of wine!
